....it's so nice to see you again. Where have you been all my life? Since you were invented, I have never gone this long without you. And I shall make sure to never do it again.
My life has been a whirlwind of activity over the past month and a half. One of the highlights (of the year actually) was my speaking engagement at the Creative Photography Retreat in Stamford, Connecticut, where I taught child photography to the most. amazing. group. of. people. ever. It was such an honor to be amongst 200 folks who love photography as much as I do.
The day before I left for Stamford, a truck came and carried away everything that I own. It was actually a much harder thing to do than I thought...walk out the door. I'm not someone who is attached to things by any means, but I wasn't prepared for how attached I was to my actual house. Nothing special...just a cute house up on a hill...but it was the place where I have given birth to my three children. It is the place where I leave with only two. It's bittersweet, but mostly just sweet. Texas calls to me in my dreams...and it says "come home"..."come home and have big hair"...and sometimes "come home and have big hair and wear cowboy boots".
Once we returned home from the scrapbooking conference to our mostly empty house, we went
to jail on a journey in our car...pulling what we didn't send on the moving truck (plus a dining room table that I decided I couldn't live without at the last minute) behind us in a U Haul.
For the next week, we
were in prison drove across America with two children, fifty million boxes, a U Haul, and our sanity. Well, no, that's not even true. We lost our sanity somewhere west of Atlanta, but hey, at least we got here. More pictures to come for sure. Plus, I never finished my blogging frenzy from my old sessions. I'm in process of getting my shiny new blog, so things are going to get pretty around here really soon!
If you are waiting on a return email from me, I should be caught up within the next couple of days. If you don't receive a response by Tuesday, please resend as I have had some troubles both sending and receiving emails lately.
