I know. I know. I have been promising a new blog by the fabulous folks at ITDR for what...a year now?!?!? The problem is....I have discovered something during this blog-building process. I am the MOST DIFFICULT CLIENT EVER. I seriously cannot make up my mind about anything important. I make a decision and say "YES! THAT'S IT!" and then totally change my mind the next week. Suffice to say, my beautiful custom blog is still sitting over in draft land. While you, my faithful readers, have just resigned yourselves to the fact that I don't blog anymore. Haven't you? I can completely understand if you have.
But guess what? Even though things have been quiet over on the blog front, they have NOT been quiet here at the loft. Not counting being my children's mother, my husband's wife, and getting ready for The Secret Workshop in Minneapolis in May, I've been shooting like an absolute madwoman. At this point, I have about fifty gibatrillion photo sessions to share with you. I'm pretty sure I promised some of them to you...ummm...last year. Actually, I know I did. That wedding I said I was going to post? Yes, you see that couple has now celebrated their first wedding anniversary. The maternity I was going to post? Baby's actually WALKING NOW.
So, I know it's been a long time. But I miss you. I miss your comments and your questions. And I want to share with you this amazing journey I've been on here....beginning anew in Austin, TX...and the hundreds of clients that I've shot over the past year. So I'm just going to start sharing. Now, I might not share in order. In fact, I KNOW that I won't. So anyone out there trying to check my time stamps on my photos....you are in for a ride. :)
I'm going to start with some of the most special sessions first. Well, ALL of my sessions are special, but some of them....really have that ability to remind me WHY I do what I do.....and why I am the luckiest person alive to get to do what I do for a living.
First, a newborn shoot here at the loft in Austin. I love shooting here because the light and airy feel just fits with glowing new parents. This is Tyan (of tiny bird photography...and quite seriously one of the most kind and humble people I have met in my entire life...truly, the goodness just pours out of her) and her gorgeous husband and her beautiful, beautiful son.
THIS. IS. WHY. I. AM. A. PHOTOGRAPHER.
Because life can change in the blink of an eye. Her son was here. And then he almost, ALMOST wasn't. Can you SEE how loved he is? Can you FEEL it when you look at how they look at him?
I can.
Oh my god you are finally back. Thank you for posting again! I was hoping you weren't going to quite blogging. You are one of my favorite photogs ever.

Oh, I am DELIGHTED to see that you are back...I have missed your inspiring work. As I was reading the beginning of your blog I started laughing out loud because I can TOTALLY relate to being a parent of 2 wonderful monkeys and all that goes with that. I haven't blogged in almost a year. Baby no. 2 has consumed the extra time that was there before. Also, I am sad to say that I can not make your May workshop, but I am hopeful that there will be another one later in the year that I can attend. Welcome back!

Wondering if you would mind sharing what that muted hazey look is that u used in some of these shots. You use it in some if your baby shots too. Wondering what action or photoshop tool you use to achieve that? Hopefully you can help!!
